Common Behavior Problems

Excessive Barking

Excessive barking is often a result of overstimulation, where a dog becomes overly reactive to its environment. This behavior is one of the common behavior problems that stems from a lack of balance in their daily routine, whether it be unmet physical, mental, or emotional needs. By addressing these behavioral issues and providing proper structure through effective dog training, we can help dogs develop calmer, more controlled responses.

Biting

Biting, whether from a playful puppy or an overly excited adult dog, often occurs when they struggle to channel their emotions appropriately. This behavior is one of the common behavior problems seen in dogs and typically arises from a lack of balance in their daily routine. By teaching proper impulse control and providing the right outlets for their energy through effective dog training, we can help them overcome these behavioral issues and develop more appropriate behaviors.

Chewing

Chewing can stem from various causes, including boredom, teething, frustration, or pent-up energy. While it’s common for dogs to occasionally exhibit such behavior, a well-balanced dog should be able to relax without falling into destructive habits. We emphasize dog training techniques that help shape your dog's mindset, making them comfortable with calm moments and addressing common behavior problems, which ultimately reduces the need for excessive chewing.

Uncommon Behavior Problems

Resource Guarding

Resource guarding is a common behavior problem that occurs when a dog feels the need to protect their food, toys, or even their human. This behavioral issue often stems from insecurity, but with the right mindset shift through effective dog training, they can learn that sharing is safe and that having others nearby during mealtime is nothing to worry about. Through structured training, we help dogs build confidence and trust, significantly reducing the need to guard their resources.

Pacing/Anxiety

Pacing is often a sign of anxiety and can be one of the common behavior problems seen in dogs. This constant movement indicates a struggle to relax and stems from an inability to be at peace, making it difficult for a dog to settle. In our dog training sessions, we focus on building their confidence in stillness, helping them feel secure and comfortable in a calm state of mind.

Object Fixation

Object fixation is a common behavioral issue that occurs when a dog becomes overly focused on a specific item, often because they derive satisfaction or stimulation from it. If left unaddressed, this behavior can become persistent and lead to other common behavior problems. We assist dogs in shifting their focus and regaining balance through effective dog training techniques and redirection.

Excessive Licking

Excessive licking often starts as harmless 'kissing,' but it can quickly evolve into a repetitive behavior that becomes a compulsive tick, a common behavior problem in dogs. We focus on reshaping their mindset through dog training, helping them understand that they don't always need to give that kiss while teaching more appropriate ways to express affection.

We believe in progress over perfection, recognizing that each dog's journey is unique and that addressing behavioral issues takes time. Our goal is to make steady advancements toward overcoming common behavior problems, ultimately leading to a balanced and happy companion through effective dog training.
